Finding Books at SJ Libraries

The Catalog allows you to find books by keyword, author, or title. Use Advanced Search to limit by format, publication date, or audience.

  • SJ Libraries' Catalog.
    Searches the collections of Queens Main Library, Staten Island Library, and the collections at Oakdale and Rome campuses. Items may be borrowed by anyone with a valid Storm Card, and may be used on premises by anyone with a Courtesy Card.
  • Davis Library Catalog
    Searches the library at the Manhattan Campus. Anyone with a valid storm card may borrow items from the library. Others may purchase borrowing privileges.
  • Rittenberg Law Library Catalog
    Searches the collection of the law library, on Queens campus. (Only students enrolled at SJ Law School may use the collection.)

Locating Books by Call Number

Most books in SJ Libraries collection are in print, and are organized by call number. Call numbers are arranged 1) Alphabetically by the first line 2) numerically by the whole number on the second line, and 3) numerically by the decimal on the third line. For example,













Please note: Part of the Queens Campus library collection is in closed stacks. If the catalog indicates that a book is available but you cannot find it on the shelf, go to the third floor service desk and request the item.
